What is Advising?
Academic Success Center's team of academic advisors helps students chart a
course for success. The advising center can help you:
- Plan your sequence of courses to efficiently complete your degree.
- Design a well-balanced schedule.
- Understand how to apply transfer credits.
- Explore the relationship between UNLV's majors and your career goals.
- Learn more about university policies and procedures.
How to Get Advising
The ASC offers various methods for students to receive academic advising.

The advising center is located in the Academic Success Center across from the Student Services Complex. Call 702-895-3177 to schedule an appointment.

Visit our online advising tutorial where you can submit your schedule for an ASC academic advisor to review.
When to Visit an Advisor
All exploring students are required to meet with an academic advisor at least once
a year. Ideally, students should meet with an advisor before registration
each semester to address individual issues.
Students on academic probation and/or suspension must meet with an academic
advisor for an individual appointment before scheduling a class.
