Early Alert

We know that faculty come across students whose academic performance causes concern. As a new learning support tool we are introducing an Early Alert program. Once PeopleSoft is implemented for Fall 2010 courses, a module will be available to alert us to students who have drawn concern. Until that time we would like to start intervening with these students by providing them with intentional support and programming to help them succeed. To do so we have established an Early Alert system to begin immediately. All course instructors can now simply email any concerns to alert@unlv.edu and staff from the ASC will make contact with the student and provide an appropriate course of action to help the student succeed. By working together we can best support our students and help them persist and thrive. Please encourage all faculty, PTI's and TA's to use this service. Additional details about the new Early Alert module of PeopleSoft will be forthcoming later this academic year.
